NCAA DIVISION II FOOTBALL REGIONAL RANKINGS
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After securing the inaugural Great American Conference football championship, the OuachitaBaptist Tigers were rewarded with a one-spot jump to No. 7 in this week’s NCAA Division II Super Region 4 Region Rankings, released on Monday by NCAA national football committee.
The Tigers (7-2, 6-0 GAC) secured the championship by hanging on to defeat Southeastern Oklahoma State 21-18 this past Saturday on the road. OBU was No. 8 in each of the past two Super Region 4 weekly rankings.
Ouachita’s jump in the rankings resulted in West Texas A&M’s drop from six to nine after the Buffs recorded their third loss of the season in a 35-21 setback to Midwestern State this past Saturday. That win for Midwestern State vaulted the Mustangs back to the top spot in this week’s rankings after a week in the No. 2 position.
Last week’s No. 1 in the region, Pittsburg State, suffered its first loss of the season this past Saturday in a 43-25 setback to Washburn, allowing Washburn to move up to the No. 2 position this week and drop PSU to the No. 3 position.
