OMAHA, Neb. – The Great American Conference's Player of the Year, Southern Arkansas' David Harris, and Pitcher of Year, Ouachita Baptist's Davis Ward each made the list as two of the 40 semifinalists for the 2013 Tino Martinez Award College Baseball Lineup announced on Wednesday.
Harris and Ward make up two of the top-five selections from the Central Region.

To date, Harris has a .358 average with 72 hits in 201 at-bats. He also has an impressive .672 slugging percentage as he has racked up 37 extra-base hits (21 doubles, 10 homeruns, and six triples). His 60 RBI lead the team and the GAC and also rank Harris in the top-20 nationally.
Ward, the Tigers' ace, finished his year with a 9-3 record in 13 starts, including 10 complete game performances. He ended with an ERA of 1.74, the best among all GAC pitchers during the season. Ward leads the league in ERA and complete games and he shares the lead in shutouts.
Initial nominations for the award were made by baseball sports information contacts and media members. A panel of media, coaches and sports information officers will be polled to finalize the candidates. The group will once again vote on the finalists, with a fan Internet vote also contributing to the crowning of the winner.
The finalists are scheduled to be named on Monday, May 20th. The winner will be announced after the conclusion of the DII Baseball Championship held in Cary, NC from May 25th to June 1st.
